2013 - Jarl Michael Nisbet

The 2013 Festival took place on 22nd February

The festival this year was as early as it can be, taking place on the 22nd February. The weather over the weekend was superb, with very little wind allowing for a spectacular procession and burning in the voe. The squad were in fine voice all weekend, and the musicians kept the spirits high wherever they went. The 10 squads performed to a very high standard for Jarl Hrollaug Rognvaldsson and his squad. After the squads had finished, Alan Nicolson and his dance band kept the crowds entertained until the small hours. The hop concert was once again to a very high quality, and a large crowd gathered to watch. The Alan Nicolson band started up again, and led another night of dancing til the early morning. On Sunday, the Jarl Squad had their heads shaved for charity, which raised a tremendous amound for charity. £4114.46 was split evenly between the MS Society, and the British Heart Foundation.
